Still playing PSO on your Dreamcast?

Talk about the original PSO games here.

Maybe the difference has to do with NTSC-U and PAL-E Dreamcasts. It's anybody's guess, really.

I used my Dreampassport Premier to configure my connection for PSO, and it works like a charm on my NTSC/J DC, so it may really vary from region to region. ;)

Dream Passport Premier is a special version of Dream Passport 3, right?

I'm glad it's possible to configure the BBA on European consoles at all...
I could try to confirm this region dependency as soon as I get hold of my JP and US consoles (which will certainly take a while as I left them at my parent's place).
I find it rather strange that US users can't use a browser software for that task while others can. I think I heard about the Dreamcast storing two different settings internally. People have once used Quake to edit their configuration, haven't they?

Well it's a small miracle that the BBA is even compatible with PAL Dreamcasts, seeing as it was never released in Europe. If we knew more about how the flash memory is used, we could probably determine for sure what software writes it where and how PSO reads it, but it's unlikely this will ever happen IMO.

I'm not really sure if Dream Passport Premier is related to DP3, it may be a variant to the "Broad Band Passport" which comes bundled with the BBA in Japan. But I'm just a noob here so don't trust my words :o

Ha, everybody change your Dreamcast's language to German and see if it ignores the USv2 configuration. :lol:

I have, in the past, done some c-mode with codes on. I can just as easily do it without, if you prefer. Either way is fine by me.

I'm aware this thread is a couple months old, but for it's purpose of determining who is DC:

I'm a DC player (see sig), albeit somewhat new...
Got a BBA (black, $250, and worth it)
I'm on pretty often so if you're a "schthack legit" player I'm not that hard to find :)

P.S. If you see Moop lv. 6, that's my pc char simply made for the purpose of storage/game arranging.

@randomperson
If you have an old dreamcast, a bba/modem and can use it, by all means join us (we need more peoplez!) :P
Moop/RAmar (DCv2) lv. 86/Legit

Hi! I'm still playing dc pso v2. I'm setup to play on the other servers, but i'm trying to figure out how to get on these servers too.

I have these characters;

Macabre! (red hucast), Lust (purpl racaseal), Shinobi (red hunwearl), Master - (oran humar), Mistress - (pinkal formal), ((Obey)) (green ramar)

The first two are really the only playable ones, the rest are either new or mag-making characters. I've been trying to play evenings sunday to thursday, and I'm Eastern Standard Time.
