What is PSO?
Released on the Dreamcast on December of the year 2000 the original PHANTASY STAR ONLINE shook the world by becoming the very first Online 3D Action RPG for Consoles, and since then, there had been several revisions of the game continiuing with PSO Ver2. on June 2001 on Dreamcast, 2001 saw the release of the original Windows version of the game, 2002 saw the release for both the Gamecube and the Xbox of PHANTASY STAR ONLINE EPISODE 1&2 and lastly in 2003 the release of the revolutionary CARD battle game PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 3 C.A.R.D Revolution.
Having sold more than 600,000 copies around the world across all it's iterations and winning prestigious awards from the CESA Japan Game Awards 2001 and from the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) in 2001 as well as earning the merit of being a totally new concept of Online RPG games on consoles that paved the way for many other inspirations and games that came afterwards.
PSO Always defined itself as a game encouraing Communication, Team Work and Real Time Action, the Player will Explore the Pioneer 2 and the Planet Ragol as a Hunter hired by the Hunter's Guild in order to uncover the mysteries of a previous expedition.
This new iteration of the game called PHANTASY STAR ONLINE Blue Burst, continues the main story beyond the events after Episode 2 on GameCube alongside several enhanements to the core game such as:
- Sharper graphics and textures
- THe addition of a brand new episode with new items, maps and enemies.
- The addition of a Team System
- A set of original quests only for this version of the game
- Character Data Saved On the Server
