If you're running the server on the same PC as you're running the emulator on, then I'm not sure if it'll work (unless you change your PC system files to redirect the "external" DNS to "127.0.0.1" (aka, "localhost") - but the method for doing that will probably change with which version of Windows you're using.  I know in XP you'd simply change the "Hosts" file.

i can use a separate pc for the server if it's needed, but do you have a basic steps to setup the server and, in the game, connect to my local server? thank you for all the help that gave me in this forum, by the way, if the server is in the same machine that the emulator, what i need to put in the hosts file to try that?

hi mens ;D

Just a small note here

Schtserv is not responsible of the damage that a software may cause to your hardware or to any other thing of your property.

This applies to in the same way for the software that is not being developed by Schtsev, such programs are always being used under the own persons responsibility and risk.

thanks ;D

Sure, i am aware that i am on my own in this, all the responsability are mine, no problem man, im ok with that.

I did say in my first response that we don't actually support other software here, but that individual users may be happy to help him out in getting set up.

Oh, ok, i'll ask that users, thank you very much.

By individual users I meant people like myself who have used the private server software (in my case the Fuzziqer software) - not a user named "individual", lol.

jejejejej, yes i understand that, sorry for my english by the way, its not my first language, thanks for the help, can i write you in private with my questions? thanks in advance for the help, i have knowledge of networking, but cant figure out yet how to correctly create a server with the fuzziqer software.

By all means feel free.  One thing I'd like to state publicly though is that I'd recommend you use one of the older versions of the software prior to "Newserv" - 2.7 is widely regarded as the most stable, but 3.1 is probably the easiest to set up.  If you're unable to find those just let me know and I'll get a link for you.

On a side-note, PSO Plus didn't come out in the UK - however, I believe Ep3 uses the same network sercurity updates that Plus does.  If this is indeed the case, then it may be necessary to adjust your Gamecube / PC network settings as Ep3 (and probably Plus) will refuse to connect to what they perceive to be a "local" server - as in one where the IP address matches in all but the last grouping of digits - For example, if your PC's IP address was 121.122.123.124, then "121", "122" or "123" must be different on the Gamecube.  Naturally this will be easier if you can manually set up static IP addresses in your local network environment.

What I used to do - admittedly before I got proper internet at home - was connected the Gamecube to my PC via wired LAN (with the local address matching the "local" IP grouping of the LAN card) - but I'd have a wfi dongle on the PC with the IP address on that configured to another address (so, using the "121.122.123.124" example above, I'd set up the Wifi card to "128.128.128.128" and then tell the Gamecube that is the primary DNS - then configure the server software to use the same address) - I see no real reason why that shouldn't work for others to get PSO Plus going.

Hi! thanks fo answer, i'll try tonight, wish me good luck !!!!! (by the way, i will use first PSO 1 & 2, not plus, for simplicity, and the 3.1 version of the server, for simplicity too, i am using dolphin 5.0, any advice that you can give me is welcome, for example, can i have the server and the game running in the same machine?  do i need to edit somehow the hosts file in my machine? things like that)

If you're running Dolphin and the server on the same machine, it may be simplest to set up the configuration of the server to have "127.0.0.1" as one of the server's IP addresses - and get the PSO network setup to use the same address for the primare DNS.

For those that don't know, "127.0.0.1" is also known as "localhost" - aka, it tells the program to look at the machine it's currently running on.
