I have my GC point at my computer, which I run Mr DNS on to route to the server (74.59.188.106)

You have to use Mr. DNS everytime you connect. So if you switch characters, have to run it again before you can connect with the other character.

I'm old fashioned. I use a console and have both the regular and plus disks. Also have the keyboard adapter plugged into controller slot 4.

There was a third party adapter that allowed you to use a standard PC keyboard on the Gamecube - I think it was made by Codejunkies - the same people who did the Action Replay cheat devices, but I'm not 100% sure on this.

It lets you plug a ps2 keyboard into your gamecube. You don't have to use the one that comes with it.

My adapter is just covered in tape causes its unearthly worn and old and won't stay together otherwise.

Code Junkies made the GCN powerboard which comes with the powerboard keyboard and the adapter. The powerboard is a ps2 keyboard with a few extra buttons on it. My powerboard broke long ago, but any ps2 keyboard works with the adapter.
