Going to need a little more information to provide better feedback, but:

If you're playing on a Wii, consider using a wired ethernet adapter. The Wii's WiFi chip is pretty bad.

If you're using Dolphin, and on Wifi, consider using Ethernet.

If you're on a GC, then maybe consider resetting your router.

I keep having the same thing happen to me as well, I am playing on the Dolphin UWP on Xbox Series X, how do I fix it?

I’m on a Wii. I keep getting disconnected. I tried using the Ethernet adapter which worked better… plugged directly into my modem/router. I got a good 30-40 minute session in that way ( it disconnected right before the boss), but whenever I try to do it over wi fi I usually get booted right after connecting. Is there a discord server I could join to troubleshoot this? I really wanna play a good session and make it past a boss like I used to do in the 00’s on my Dreamcast and Xbox. I’m about to try hot spotting from my phone but I don’t have the best data plan. Thanks in advance.

Ps I read somewhere it might be an issue with my router? I’m just using the generic black router/ modem from Xfinity. Is this the issue?

Wifi is pretty bad. Perhaps you have an issue with your router/modem? Maybe resetting them wouldn't be a bad idea. Here's a discord link for ya.
