PSOBB game closes from client

Need help to figure out how to play this game. I created ann account, downloaded and installed the client. Added the files to my exclusion folder for anti virus. I open the client and hit start game, a black screen pops up and instantly closes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had that problem at first also. I play on Windows 11and here is what i have selected in the display tab in the options menu.
Screen Format : Widescreen
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Color: 32bit
Mode: Windowed Fullscreen
This setup works on my end, hopefully it will work for you.

get gdVoodoo2 here:

extract the content of the file
copy the content of the folder /MS/x86 to your psobb folder
that will run a wrapper to convert dx8 to dx12 call
Some video cards driver dont have DX8 support anymore
