Only ever played PSO on the DreamCast back in the day and loved it but this afternoon on a modded Wii was my first time ever getting online!
Recently I dug up a PSP-2000 that I had been randomly given years ago by someone who found it in a case with the power adapter and 4 UMDs.
Decided to finally put a working battery in it and got a copy of MGS: PeaceWalker. Also got curious about modding and found out there was a version of PSO on the PSP. That got me thinking..."Are there any crazy people out there maintaining servers for this stuff to still get online with?"

Unfortunately, there's not really modern day support for the PSP version but my gf has always wanted a copy of the Coraline game because she's a huge fan of the movie. Got a Wii and surprised her with a copy from Ebay that just arrived a couple hours ago! Of course I got curious about modding the Wii and discovered that the original iteration of the console had backwards compatibility with the GameCube including four controller ports and GC memory card ports.

Earlier today while out on errands I stopped into my LGS for a GC controller and lo-and-behold they had a copy of PSO for GC in the glass case!.....episode 1&2 but NOT the Plus version. The sticker price was $230 so I thought for sure it was the Plus version but upon closer inspection NOPE. I felt the need to urge them to change their price. They immediately looked into it more closely and sure enough, realized that someone screwed up. They must've paid someone ~$200 for an $80 game!

So I've just settled with grabbing a file from the great Vimm.net and it took some trial and error but I managed to get it running and jump online! Someday will grab a CIB copy. Excited to be apart of this lovely community. If anyone has an extra GC keyboard laying around and is shipping from the CONUS, let's make a deal.
