Any way to use my offline character or use server character offline?

Hi. I used SCHThack server many years ago with the PC BB version. However, I'm a console gamer at heart, and ultimately am only able/interested in playing PSO on the Gamecube at this point. I love playing this game splitscreen with my kids (wonky camera and all) offline, but would love to show them the game online. However, best I can tell, everything is saved server side using this server. So not only would we lose all of our progress made thus far, we would seemingly wouldn't be able to enjoy any progress made online on this server, offline together via splitscreen. Am I correct in that thinking? Any answers, thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. On a side note, how is it that even after all of these years, I genuinely cannot find a game that has the same kind of the magical, enjoyable, long-lasting appeal as PSO?

Thanks for such a quick reply. I wasn't as clear as I should have been. The character/data I'm referring to is all GameCube now. I only mentioned BB to note how long it's been since I used the servers here and how largely unfamiliar this all is to me. So my GameCube saved character will work on the online servers here, and I will be able to save my progress online to my local storage (essentially the way the game originally functioned online on consoles)?

As has been stated, for Gamecube (and Dreamcast as well as PC V2) the saves are client-side, so your offline character will actually be your online character - unless you're extremely picky and insist on having seperate characters for each mode.

On the Gamecube at least, you can play local multiplayer in splitscreen. What is immediately unlocked in that depends on what player one has unlocked in single-player - and missions cannot be done unless you're in Challenge or Battle mode. (Note that what's immediately unlocked in online is - again, determined by Player one's single-player progress). As has been stated though, you cannot play splitscreen online. The closest you can get to that is having a LAN set up with more than one Gamecube and have each one connect seperately to the server.

Cool! I know how split screen works, and that it is only offline. For some reason I thought that somehow the server here made it so that even the console games were saved server side! I've been playing PSO since at least its GameCube release. I'm stoked! Thanks again for the responses. Last question, I (now) realize that at most, players from every platform can see one another in the online lobby. That said, can GameCube PSO and PSO Plus players play together online? I played the game the most on Xbox, so I don't know if the two versions for GameCube were at all compatible with one another.
